Another month and more winners on MakeFive! It’s always great for us to see you guys getting excited about the site and spending your spare time on it!

Here’s how November played-out on MakeFive:

Two issues arose this month around the contest, and as such, I wanted to address them.

First is the time that the contest ends. To be fair, we’ve always kept the “closing time” the last day of the month, at exactly 23:59:59 GMT. Now, this clearly has thrown a couple of people, and as such, we’ve added a counter that will show-up on MakeFive’s homepage for the last week of each month. That way everyone will be on the same page for the closing time.

Additionally, this points chasing thing keeps haunting us. Lots of people want to win the contest and a lot of you are frustrated by point chasing. We don’t know exactly how to deal with it. Our current take is to accept it, so long as point chasers are adding decent content. So, if you want to add 100 new descriptions in order to gain points, that’s just fine. Just make sure they are good descriptions. If it’s crap, or you’re just voting on five topics a minute and not contributing anything, we’re just going to remove your points. Simple as that.

And now, an apology. For all of you waiting for prizes for October, we’re sorry for the delay. Everything was ready to go when we realized that we only had one size of t-shirt left. As such, we’ll have all of the prizes (for this month and last) out today.
